Turkey’s steel exports in 2011 went up 24% compared to the previous year and was recorded as US$17.1 billion. According to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers Association, Turkey produced 31 million tonnes of steel between January and November 2011.

In the same term, Turkey’s imports of iron steel products went down by 3.4% compared to the previous year and was recorded as 9.89 million tonnes.
