Turkish players enjoy recovery in sultana exports

Turkey has seen its sultana exports recover in the first 10 months of this year at 177,380 tonnes, an increase of 1.15% from the same period in 2010, according to the State Institute of Statistics. Offtake to the UK, Turkey’s biggest customer for the vine fruit, has ended up growing by 6.39% during the 2011 period at 50 002 tonnes. Second-placed Germany also increased imports by 6.4% to 32 056 tonnes. Smaller buyers such as Australia, Belgium and Canada all saw increases for the period.
