“Turkish Business Outlook 2012”, prepared by DEIK incooperation with ISPAT, aims to introduce Turkey to the global business community and provide key information about current economic issues, the investment climate and the general business framework.

The Arab Health Exhibition & Congress will be organized in Dubai, United Arab Emirates between 23rd and 26th January 2012. Turkish National Participation at the exhibition is organized with the support of Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economy. Turkish companies operating in medical technology sector will be present at the exhibition.

Turkey has seen its sultana exports recover in the first 10 months of this year at 177,380 tonnes, an increase of 1.15% from the same period in 2010, according to the State Institute of Statistics. Offtake to the UK, Turkey’s biggest customer for the vine fruit, has ended up growing by 6.39% during the 2011 period at 50 002 tonnes. Second-placed Germany also increased imports by 6.4% to 32 056 tonnes. Smaller buyers such as Australia, Belgium and Canada all saw increases for the period.

Turkey’s steel exports in 2011 went up 24% compared to the previous year and was recorded as US$17.1 billion. According to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers Association, Turkey produced 31 million tonnes of steel between January and November 2011.

IFEXPO 2012, Hosiery, Underwear, Swimwear Special Section which will gather leading players of the sector by its hosiery, underwear and swimwear special sections, will be held in TÜYAP Fair and Convention Center on between 17th and 19th January 2012.

Some of the countries to which Turkey exports include the United States of America, Canada, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Chile. Olive grown and olive oil produced in Turkey has reached a capacity which shall meet 20% of the world’s need.
